Foxes Manage the Chicken Coop | The Board Of Peace

Trump’s peace council represents a revolution from above. Trump rules like a king, mixing politics and private business. The whole world accepts this without complaint.

This was clearly evident on November 17, 2025, when the US government under Donald Trump sought to obtain the approval and support of the United Nations Security Council for a Board of Peace for the Gaza Strip. According to the US delegation, this peace council, as a subcontractor of the United Nations, was to negotiate peace in the Gaza Strip and ensure long-term peace in the troubled region. Some delegates expressed skepticism. China criticized the text of the resolution for being very vague. Other delegates noticed that the Palestinians were not mentioned at all in Trump’s draft. Ultimately, however, 13 members of the Security Council approved Trump’s draft. China and Russia could have vetoed the text, but they did not. They merely abstained from voting. Resolution 2803 mandated the Trump administration to establish the Board of Peace.

The honorable ladies and gentlemen of the World Security Council played a game of blind man’s buff. On November 17, 2025, collective amnesia struck all the delegates. Since 1949, the UN had repeatedly called for the establishment of a fully-fledged Palestinian state in its resolutions. The two-state solution was particularly emphatically called for in Resolution 1397 in 2002. However, there was no mention of this at all last fall. No wonder. The energetic advocates of the Palestinians, such as Muammar Al Ghaddafi and Bashar al Assad, have disappeared from the scene. Many Arab states in the Middle East are now shattered and destabilized.

But another fact is also surprising. Last August, the US government, and in particular the Trump clan with its entourage Jared Kushner, as well as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, supported a draft proposal by an Israeli investor group at the White House and made it their own agenda. The plan, called GREAT (Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation), aims to encourage Palestinians to emigrate and then build a state-of-the-art special economic zone with eight smart cities and car manufacturing facilities for Tesla on the ethnically “cleansed” land. This plan was publicly available, and I presented it in detail here in September last year[1]. No one can say they didn’t know about it. The sheer audacity of planning a special economic zone on top of the corpses of some 70,000 murdered civilians is almost beyond words.

Trump’s Board of Peace was formed in Davos on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum. The structure of Trump’s “Board of Peace” is a joke. The sole chairman of this body is US President Donald Trump. Trump alone determines which countries are allowed to sit on this Peace Council. Trump alone decides which countries are kicked out. Who sits on the board. Anyone who wants to remain on this committee for longer than a three-year trial period must pay Trump a billion dollars. Is it any wonder that this hand-picked board consists almost exclusively of members of his clan and their friends? Incidentally, there is no mention of Palestine in the constitution of the Board of Peace. There are only veiled references to the failure of international institutions. Since the days of feudalism, there has been no institution in which a single person has been granted such absolute power. Neither in fascism nor in communism. It’s just a bad joke.

But no one laughs. No one shouts, “What kind of kindergarten is this?” There is restrained criticism from French President Emmanuel Macron. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz cautiously mumbles something about the UN already existing. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer criticizes Trump for inviting Russia to join this body. Russia’s Vladimir Putin, meanwhile, sits behind his gigantic desk and smirks: yes, he could well imagine joining this peace council. However, the billion dollars for permanent membership should come from frozen Russian accounts in the US. China at least notes that the Board of Peace is no longer focused on Gaza, but wants to act as a parallel UN.

Only the second string of world politics has appeared in Davos for Trump’s kickoff. The big players are all missing. Instead, small countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia have turned up. And, of course, Hungarian Prime Minister Orban, side by side with Argentina’s Javier Milei. Milei had to come. After all, Trump had just secured Milei’s political survival with forty billion dollars from the pockets of US taxpayers. Bulgaria’s still-head of government signed in Davos. He had been urged to do so by the immensely powerful oligarch Delyan Peewski[2]. Peewski had been placed on the sanctions list by Trump’s predecessor, Biden. Perhaps the great Donald will then free him from this business-damaging sanctions list? Let’s see how His Highness is feeling right now.

Yes, here in Davos, the law applies: one hand washes the other. The thoroughly transatlantic European Council on Foreign Relations has the following to report:

“The mixture of private investment funds with American power and geopolitics, combined with likely opaque decision-making and financial expenditure is a recipe for kleptocratic oligarchy. Already, the Guardian is reporting that Albania joined the BoP just as Kushner gained approval from the Albanian government to build a $1.4bn luxury resort on Sazan island. Meanwhile, Bulgaria’s outgoing prime minister, Rosen Zhelyazkov, reportedly joined the BoP at the urging of a Bulgarian oligarch sanctioned by the US for corruption.“[3]

Yes, it’s a heartwarming case of give and take. Jared Kushner just happens to be Donald Trump’s beloved son-in-law. And Trump’s sons Eric and Don just happened to be on a business trip halfway around the world. What a coincidence that this business trip took place at the same time as sensitive negotiations on new tariffs between the host countries and the US. The two Trump sons were able to conclude extremely advantageous contracts for their Trump company almost everywhere.

Surprisingly, Vietnam is one of the few countries that immediately joined Trump’s Board of Peace. The same Vietnam that was ravaged in the most horrific way by US forces for decades. The same Vietnam that withstood US terror for an exceptionally long time. So long, in fact, that the US population itself forced an end to this brutal war. But now, top government officials are welcoming Trump’s two sons. Vietnam is allowing the Trump clan to build a gigantic golf course in northern Vietnam. And a luxury hotel on top of that[4]. To this end, the Vietnamese government is even evicting rice farmers from their leased land without providing them with replacement land or adequate financial compensation[5]. This is because Trump had imposed a 46 percent tariff on Vietnamese exports to the US. But if the Vietnamese government has been so nice to Eric and Don, then surely Dad in the White House will lower the tariff, right?

Such favors can also be used to win favor for the Trump dynasty in other countries. For example, during their world tour, the Trump sons were granted approval for luxury golf courses and villas in Qatar[6]. A Trump Tower is being built in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia[7]. Further Trump Towers are in the works. The Trump brothers have also cashed in Dubai and Oman[8]. It’s all about mutual understanding. Making money is cool, right?

How is it possible that such a kleptocratic orgy, such a low-level insult to all humanity and decency, can take place on the world stage? In the past, people at least exercised a little restraint.

Most likely, Trump’s Board of Peace will eventually be laid to rest without a word, as a ruin and a memorial to megalomania and incompetence. But the damage to humanity – and to human dignity – is enormous.
