I find it hard to believe there is a single honest person on this planet who still claims Donald Trump is a “peace president”.
And yet here they are.
Right now, there are people openly defending the full-scale U.S. military attack on Venezuela and the kidnapping of its president and his wife, insisting this is somehow legitimate. Law enforcement, they say. Narcotics trafficking. Human trafficking. Peace and stability. The usual fairy tales rolled out whenever American bombs fall on someone else’s home.
Remember this, and remember it clearly:
Donald Trump is not a good guy.
He did not do this for good reasons.
He did it for oil.
That’s it.
The oil.
Venezuela sits on roughly 20% of the planet’s known oil reserves. It is the single most important fact in this entire story. And the Venezuelan government refuses to hand those reserves over to American corporations.
That refusal threatens U.S. dollar dominance, the petrodollar system, and America’s position as issuer of the world’s reserve currency. That is the crime. Everything else is noise.
To argue this invasion is about anything other than oil is to insult the reader’s intelligence.
It’s the same argument that told us the invasion of Iraq wasn’t about oil, but about weapons of mass destruction that never existed.
The same lie that claimed NATO flattened Libya to protect human rights — not because Gaddafi was pushing a gold-backed dinar and had challenged dollar hegemony at the United Nations the year before.
The same logic that insists the 1953 coup in Iran, which overthrew Mohammad Mossadegh, had nothing to do with oil or BP — no, he was just a dangerous radical, exactly as the CIA said.
It’s embarrassing that people still fall for this.
More embarrassing still are the influencers and commentators — yes, including Russell Brand — spinning fantasies about Trump fighting a “deep state war” against the City of London. As if this is some populist chess move, not the most basic, brute-force imperial resource grab imaginable.
It’s pathetic.
This isn’t about drugs.
It isn’t about trafficking.
It isn’t about democracy.
It isn’t about peace.
It’s about oil and the petrodollar — and anyone telling you otherwise is either a paid liar or historically illiterate.
The United States is not a rules-based international actor. It is a rogue, lawless mafia state.
If you have resources the empire wants, it will eventually show up at your door and say:
Nice country you’ve got there. Shame if anything happened to it. Maybe you need our protection.
If you refuse, the hammer comes down.
Sanctions.
Economic strangulation.
Destabilisation through neighbours.
Media demonisation.
Coups.
Or, if necessary, the outright kidnapping of your elected leader on allegations so thin they collapse the moment they’re compared with America’s own criminal record.
A horse’s head in the bed — dressed up as international law.
I hope Venezuelans understand this. I hope they understand that nothing done to their country in recent days has been for their benefit. It has nothing to do with narcotics, trafficking, or morality. It has everything to do with their resources — with their oil — and with an empire that believes it has the right to steal it.
And I hope they resist this Yankee mafioso invasion with the same determination the Vietnamese showed when the empire came for them.
History is very clear on one point:
Empires do not stop because they are reasoned with.
They stop when they are stood up to.
