An Attempted Coup In Russia Or Another Act Of Stage-Managed Conflict To Fuel A Narrative? • Updated

OffGuardian

The breaking news from Russia today is that Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder and leader of the Wagner mercenary group, has “declared war on Russia’s military leadership”.

Allegedly, Wagner units have started moving eastwards from Ukraine toward Moscow, taking the city of Rostov-on-Don.

According to various reports from Western media outlets, the FSB has already opened criminal proceedings against Prigozhin.

Vladimir Putin addressed the nation a few hours ago, accusing the mercenary leader of treason and vowing “decisive action”:

Other reports claim the Russian air force has already taken out Wagner units.

So what’s going on here?

  • Is this another act of stage-managed conflict to fuel a narrative?
  • Are Wagner in the pay of Western nations in an old-fashioned colour revolution?
  • Is this the response of a Russian Military sick of Russia’s “special military operation”?
  • Or is Prigozhin the face of a Russian Nationalist movement who are tired of Russia working to a globalist agenda?
  • Will the “special military operation” morph into a Russian civil war?

Commentary on Russian coup

Tap News | Tapestry

I just watched Putin’s address after Wagner took Rostov. He was clearly reading from the teleprompter.
I’ve been having my doubts about Putin for a while. I am pretty sure he is being manipulated precisely the way Fletcher Prouty has told us how American presidents are manipulated. Whether you are locked in the Oval office or Kremlin, you depend on the info you get on your desk. You really have no clue of what’s going on in the real world.
Jealous Shoigu and Gerasimov were doing horrible things to Prigozhin for a while – like depriving his soldiers of ammo, taking away Prigozhin’s ability to communicate over satellite phone or refusing his entry to the ministry of defense. Now Prigozhin tells a story of having to take his soldiers over mine fields out of Artemovsk/ Bakhmut. But what drove him to turn his group onto Moscow is bombing his camp by RF forces.
He is going to lose this fight UNFORTUNATELY. As always, the real treasonous asses like Shoigu and Gerasimov are going to stay at the top, and a true patriot is going to gulags

Ella Mossone hour ago About Prigozhin – he is a patriot, not a politician. I cannot say the same about Shoigu or Gerasimov. They are so jealous of the Wagner group successes that they have been doing a lot of funny things. The latest is actually bombing the Wagner camp. That’s why Prigozhin has done what he did. If he was a politician he would not have done this. But he is a straight shooter and now he signed his death sentence, and I am incredibly sad for him and for Russia. Russia like any country is full of all kinds, and the worst kind usually gets to the top there like everywhere else, while real patriots get suicided.

The Russian “Coup” that wasn’t

There was no more a coup attempt in Russia today than there was a January 6 insurrection.

PCR and Larry Sprano discuss the day’s events.

It was all over in a few hours, but not before major media jumped on the story, calling the “coup”  the beginning of the end for Vladimir Putin.

But Yevgeny Prigozhin, who leads Russia’s Wagner mercenary fighters in Ukraine, hasn’t seized Vladimir Putin’s office in the Kremlin.  Instead, it’s now being reported that Prigozhin has, in effect, been exiled to Belarus, and his troops will sign contracts with Russian military leaders.  And, oh yeah, his “march on Moscow” was quickly halted by Prigozhin.

As Paul Craig Roberts points out in his latest interview with On Target’s Larry Sparano, the entire episode is just the latest example of why you should take anything you first hear in the media with a large grain of salt:
